A Remembrance Day Tribute

A painted tribute, inspired by....

a crescent toy military nurse attending to her soldier patient, which I encountered in The Brighton Toy Museum’s wonderful collection.

The weathered nature of these toys gave them such a particular energy and quality. They felt to me both historic and very much alive, conveying, without words, huge pathos and power.

May they say more, than my words ever could, and pay tribute to all those brave souls who fought with their lives.🙏
