Framed & Delivered

My oil painting of Fulham Railway Bridge, seen from Putney Bridge at sunrise, went off to a lovely new home yesterday!

Originally unframed, I sorted out a simple white box frame for the occasion with the help of Jacksons Framers

It's made me reflect on the many strolls I have taken around this bridge over the years, always surprised by how dramatically different the times of day and tide can change the scene.

I think of all the walks and conversations I've had, all the states of mind I've been in, through rain and sun. These places are so full of experiences and memory they are almost a living being, an old friend and confident, that are a little part of our hearts and the abstract notion of what 'home' is.
